Founded in 2018, Deffinity Africa (Pty) Ltd works with governments, NGOs, private investors and international funding bodies to fund and deliver infrastructure that strengthens communities and economies.
Deffinity Africa set out to deliver infrastructure funding that is reliable, transparent and sustainable. We combine financial expertise, industry knowledge and technology so that good projects do not stall for lack of capital or oversight.
We are more than a source of funds. We stay with a project from funding through construction and operation, and we hand it over when it is performing.

Chairman and founder
Nico Matlala founded Deffinity Africa and its parent investment group. He is also the founder of ATPGROUP HOLDINGS cc and an executive director at IMF Intelligence Services.
His career spans information technology, sales, consulting and business development, including work alongside global technology vendors and advisory firms. At Deffinity Africa he leads strategy and the relationships with governments, funders and investors.
Managing Director
Boitumelo Thoka leads operations and strategy, overseeing how projects move from approval to delivery on schedule and within budget.
Youth empowerment and skills training are central to her approach, so that the communities around each project gain lasting capability as well as infrastructure.
Funders and public clients need to see progress, not just hear about it.
Budgets, procurement and milestones are tracked in our PMO software and reported to stakeholders.
Our funding approach supports South Africa’s National Development Plan (NDP) 2030 goals.
